History of Us is a course taught at the secondary level that unapologetically explores the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of African Americans. Taught at Tuscaloosa City Schools high schools, students enrolled in the class are exposed to a plethora of hidden histories; specifically within the city of Tuscaloosa, AL.

The Civil Rights Movement, Jim Crow Era, Reconstruction Era and modern-day slavery in the form of mass incarceration are a few of the topics and themes students initially cover and further discuss.
